SolarMarq Engineering LLP was founded by two PV experts who completed their Ph.D.s at NCPRE, IIT Bombay. Solarmarq has developed an affordable, reliable and user-friendly tool for conducting EL testing of solar panels in solar power plants. In the short time since it was launched, Solarmarq has successfully delivered more than 35 EL testing machines in India and abroad to countries like US, Brazil, Spain, Saudi Arabia and Burkina Faso (the Burkina Faso sale and training was described in a recent NCPRE Newsletter). Some of the export orders have been repeated due to good performance and affordable solutions provided by SolarMarQ.
Recently, SolarMarq Engineering LLP has successfully delivered the latest model of EL Pro to a solar testing company in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The core of the system has a modified CMOS sensor for capturing EL images of the module which helps to identify the defects in solar panel. This system was developed by Dr. Rajiv Dubey, who is now the CEO of SolaMarq, while working as a Ph.D. student at NCPRE / IIT Bombay. The EL Pro system is fully compliant with IEC TS 60904 standard, and consists of EL camera and accessories, plus a software capable of doing auto focus, serial number marking, geo-tagging, processing of images, and analysis of defects.
Apart from selling the EL testing machine, Solarmarq also undertakes solar plant performance assessment projects. These projects use the methodology developed during NCPRE's All-India Surveys of PV Module Reliability in 2013, 2014, and 2016 conducted by the SoalrMarq founders while working at NCPRE. These solar plant assessment projects have been conducted across many sites in India, as well as aboard in Dubai and recently in Malaysia. The success of Solarmarq demonstrates how high-quality R&D at NCPRE can translate to a start-up company founded by the NCPRE researchers.
