The National Centre for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE) at IIT Bombay announces a 3-day short-term program on “Battery Energy Storage Systems: Fundamentals and System Design” from July 14 - 16, 2026. Below are the details:
The short-term program on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) Fundamentals and System Design is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of battery technologies, system components, performance characteristics, and applications in modern power systems. The program covers key aspects such as battery sizing for solar PV integration, state of charge management, component selection, thermal management, safety systems, and grid integration. Participants will gain practical knowledge on designing and implementing BESS for renewable energy integration, grid stability, peak shaving, and backup power applications, making the program highly relevant for engineers, researchers, and professionals working in the renewable energy and power sector.

Limited accommodation is available at an additional cost. Hostel accommodation for students and the Institute's guest house for Faculty/Govt.Officials/Industry professionals will be available on first come first-served basis.
