A meeting organized by MNRE to explore future commercialization prospects for solar cells was held at IIT Bombay on July 29th, 2026, under the Chairmanship of Shri S. K. Sarangi, Secretary MNRE. Others present were Prof. Ashok Jhunjhunwala of IIT Madras, Shri Mayank Tewari, Additional Secretary MNRE and Dr. Chandan Banerjee, Scientist 'G' at MNRE. Additionally, members from academia and from several interested companies were present.
